Ranbir Kapoor Buys Land Worth ₹3.31 Crore at HoABL's The Sarayu, Ayodhya
Actor Ranbir Kapoor Purchases Premium Land at The Sarayu Ayodhya
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has acquired a land parcel in Ayodhya at a premium plotted development by the House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), the real estate firm announced on May 14. The transaction valued at approximately Rs 3.31 crore covers a 2,134-square-foot plot within The Sarayu.
In a statement, Kapoor described the holy city as now part of his family legacy. The actor is currently working on his portrayal of Lord Ram in Namit Malhotra's big-budget mythological epic Ramayana.
The Sarayu: Riverside Plotted Development
Spanning 75 acres along the banks of the Sarayu River, this premium development features a clubhouse, high-end lifestyle amenities and a luxury hotel operated by The Leela. The project will feature a lavish clubhouse, more than 35 lifestyle amenities, and a five-acre fully vegetarian luxury hotel managed by The Leela.
The Sarayu Ayodhya is located on the Sarayu Riverfront—just 7 km from Ram Mandir & Ram Janmabhoomi, 1.7 km from Ayodhyadham Railway Station, and 9 km from Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. Direct slip-road access to National Highway 27 connects Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Varanasi.
Growing Celebrity Interest in Ayodhya Real Estate
Ranbir Kapoor is the latest Bollywood celebrity to invest in Ayodhya. Actor Amitabh Bachchan has also been steadily expanding his real estate investments in the holy city, purchasing a 2.67-acre land parcel worth Rs 35 crore from The House of Abhinandan Lodha in March 2026.
Ayodhya's Real Estate Transformation
Ayodhya has seen a sharp rise in visitor numbers in recent years, growing from around 5.75 crore before the construction of the Ram temple to 23 crore between January and June 2025, according to government estimates. An IIM Lucknow study published in January 2026 documented a more than 60-fold increase in pilgrim traffic within months of the temple's opening.
Ayodhya is undergoing one of the most dramatic urban transformations in India, rapidly transitioning into a globally benchmarked spiritual smart city, integrating technology, infrastructure and tourism-led development.
