Amitabh Bachchan Buys 15,000 Sq Ft Plot at HoABL's The Sarayu, Ayodhya, for ₹15 Crore in Late-Night Deal
Late-Night Deal Seals Bachchan's Fresh ₹15 Crore Ayodhya Land Investment
Amitabh Bachchan's Ayodhya land purchase reportedly came together after a late-night phone call with real estate developer Abhinandan Lodha, finalising a ₹15 crore deal for a 15,000 sq ft land parcel within a day. The transaction marks a separate, fresh acquisition from the actor's earlier Ayodhya investments, according to accounts shared by Lodha.
The Call That Closed the Deal
Realtor Abhinandan Lodha recently confirmed that megastar Amitabh Bachchan secured a 15,000-square-foot plot of land in Ayodhya worth ₹15 crore with zero corporate red tape, wiring the entire sum the very next day. Lodha, founder of The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), recounted receiving the late-night inquiry while in Australia, recounting the speed and directness with which the transaction unfolded without formal intermediaries.
The Sarayu Location and Developer Context
Ranbir Kapoor owns a 2,134 sq ft plot in The Sarayu project, developed by The House of Abhinandan Lodha, with the transaction reportedly valued at around ₹3.31 crore. The Sarayu is a branded plotted development situated on the banks of the Sarayu River, part of broader infrastructure activity in Ayodhya. The House of Abhinandan Lodha has committed a significant investment of ₹1,200 crore towards Ayodhya's economic development, aligning with the state government's vision to transform Ayodhya into a global spiritual capital.
Bachchan's Expanding Ayodhya Portfolio
The ₹15 crore purchase is distinct from Bachchan's earlier land acquisitions in Ayodhya. In March 2026, the actor also reportedly completed the purchase of a 2.67-acre land parcel in the Tihura Majha area for approximately ₹35 crore. He later acquired a 54,454 sq ft land parcel under the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust, located around 10 kilometres from the temple. These combined holdings underscore sustained investment activity in the city over several months.
Ayodhya's Real Estate Momentum
The Ayodhya Development Authority had forecasted 3.2 crore tourists in 2024, but by September that year, the footfall had already crossed 13.5 crore—far exceeding expectations. This accelerated visitor volume has reshaped demand for land across residential, hospitality, and commercial sectors. Large-scale road, airport, utility, and public space development is taking place in Ayodhya thanks to the ₹85,000 crore investment allocated by the Uttar Pradesh government, with the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, new highways, and a planned high-speed train included in the Ayodhya Master Plan 2031.
Branded Land as Investment Asset
The House of Abhinandan Lodha Ayodhya is a luxury and branded plotted development project by HoABL Group. The company operates at scale across multiple states, with Ayodhya representing a strategic foothold in a rapidly developing spiritual tourism hub. For buyers seeking a branded premium development, The Sarayu phases are among the most prominent options. The project's RERA registration provides regulatory oversight typical of organized developments in Uttar Pradesh.
